For a really unique Caribbean experience, perhaps combine a few nights in Havana with this fabulous 8 day catamaran cruise, where you'll get the chance to discover numerous remote islands and virgin beaches whilst sailing through the beautiful Canarreos Archipelago around Cayo Largo. Enjoy snorkelling in crystal clear waters, as well as getting up close and personal with iguanas, wild monkeys and turtles. The captain and his crew will cater to your every need.
Day 1 In the afternoon, transfer from Havana or Varadero to the marina of Cienfuegos. Once on board, enjoy a welcome cocktail while you listen to a short briefing about the forthcoming days. Day 2 After breakfast, you'll sail to Cayo Guano del Este. After lunch on board, there's time for swimming and snorkelling in a small bay in the north of the island. Later, set sail for Cayo Largo where you'll anchor off the long sandy beach of Playa Sirena. Day 3 Enjoy a panoramic view of Cayo Largo whilst you breakfast on board. Later, visit the local turtle farm where you'll see turtles over 100 years old. Spend the afternoon relaxing on the boat or one the white sandy beaches of Playa Sirena or Playa Paradiso. In the evening, you have the opportunity to visit a local club in Cayo Largo where you can experience Cuban music and dance. Day 4 Today, sail to the coral reef of Los Ballenatos where you'll enjoy some excellent snorkelling in the calm, clear waters. The marine life is as abundant as it is diverse. In the late afternoon, sail on to the romantic island of Cayo Rosario, anchoring in front of a beautiful white sand beach, the watch the spectacular sunset. Day 5 It's all about the beach this morning as you visit one of the most beautiful in the Canarreos Archipelago. Snorkel on the coral reef where you'll see thousands of colourful fish. After lunch, visit Cayo Cantiles, where the guides at the national park will introduce you to the local crocodiles and wild monkeys. Day 6 After a snorkel tour at the Quebrado del Rosario coral reef, set sail for Cayo Rico, where the crew will prepare some refreshing Mojito cocktails to enjoy on the beach. Day 7 Today, head back to Cayo Largo. En route, explore the small island of Cayo Iguana by dinghy. The island is home to hundreds of endemic Cuban iguanas, found only on these tiny islands. Tonight enjoy a final farewell dinner on board before sailing back overnight to Cienfuegos. Day 8 After breakfast you'll be transferred from the Cienfuegos marina back to Havana, or Varadero if you're extending your stay. Special Information Departures are on Saturdays, boarding is from 6pm. A compulsory €115 landing and harbour fee per person is not included and must be paid in cash locally. Children must be able to swim; those under 10 years are not permitted. Please note that there is no dive equipment on board. The daily sailing time will be between 2-4 hours but times and itineraries may vary depending on weather conditions. |
