Elounda is approximately 10km north of Aghios Nikolaos. With its attractive coastline, beautiful harbour area and spectular view of Spinalonga Island, Elounda was made famous as the fetting of the film "Who Pays the Ferryman". The resort has retained all of its original Cretan charm and remains a tranquil spot in both early and late season, however, in the height of the summer, Elounda becomes a lively resort. It has lovely sandy beaches with plenty of watersports, surrounded with a variety of restaurants.
First impressions are always important and there’s the distinct possibility that when you arrive at Elounda Village you’ll be completely captivated by the dramatic sea views that stretch all the way from the island of Spinalonga to the picturesque Mirabello Bay. The hotel’s extensive facilities feature three pools, including a waterfall pool set in secluded gardens, and a hotel village square complete with chapel. A wide range of water sports are available and there is a fine choice of restaurants from the Symposium Greek taverna, the Garden Restaurant with open air verandas and the a la carte Mirabello Restaurant, cleverly positioned so that you feel that you are floating above the waters of the Mediterranean. The Elounda Village is ideal for couples and very much geared towards adults and is a member of Boutique Hotels and Resorts International. The hotel does not accept children under the age of 12.
