The Overlander - Auckland to Wellington VV

Journey between the thriving cities of Auckland and Wellington travelling through the lush farmland of the Waikato adn 'King Counrty'. Travel up the Raurimu Spiral onto New Zealand's 'volcanic plateau', where on a clear day you can see Mount Ruapehu, Mount Ngauruhoe and Mount Tongariro. After leaving the volcanic plateau, the route becomes green and lush again. The dramatic white cliffs and viaducts of the Rangitekei River and, closer to Wellington, views of Kapiti Island are other highlights of the journey.
