"DALYAN"(A charming small town of unequalled natural beauty offering a taste of traditional Turkish life). Situated on a lazy river delta which when travelling in one direction leads into one of Europe's deepest lakes and the other direction via reed beds you arrive at a spectacular unspoilt sandbar 7 kms long, known as "Iztuzu Beach". This is a breeding ground for Loggerhead Turtles (Caretta,Caretta).
Dalyan is one of the most scenically stunning resorts in Turkey with lush orange groves, verdant cotton fields, fragrant pine trees and an array of flora & fauna. The ancient ruins of Caunos consisting of an acropolis, theatre, four temples and baths as well as the dramatic Lycian rock tombs which overlook the river all bear witness to the city's long and varied past. Everything in the town is within walking distance and there is a variety of shops, a small market, excellent fish restaurants along the riverfront as well as a number of relaxed bars.
