Fethiye overview

Fethiye is a traditional market town with a thriving and bustling harbour. By day you can wander along the seafront promenade and see the numerous yachts, gulets and fishing boats, unloading the catch of the day. In the evening there are many cafes, shops , and restaurants to visit in the narrow and winding streets of the town. There is a choice of excursions by boat from the harbour to explore the secluded bays and islands scattered off the coast. Snorkelling is very good because the waters are crystal –clear or you could simply sun bathe on deck as you cruise along. The Fethiye market is the biggest in the area and the locals expect you to barter.
Calis is the nearest beach to Fethiye and can be accessed by either Dolmus (15 minutes) or water taxi (25 minutes) across the bay. There is also Turkey’s most famous beach and blue lagoon of Olu Deniz (12kms away from Fethiye) this is very easy to visit using the frequent dolmus service.
